WHY MONSTER BASH?

 

Monster Bash gives SARC a chance to engage the community and raise money to fight sexual assault in the Brazos Valley. By partnering with our corporate sponsors, volunteers, and friends, SARC is able to further our mission of ending sexual violence in our community– all in a fun, family-friendly environment.

 

Sexual assault is not an easy topic to talk about, but it’s an important one. Sexual assault can affect anyone, both directly and indirectly. We want everyone in the Brazos Valley to know that the Sexual Assault Resource Center is here to help.

 

SARC has provided services to individuals, ages 13 and older, affected by sexual violence since 1983. We offer free counseling with no session limits, a 24-hour hotline, accompaniment services to hospitals, law enforcement agencies, and criminal justice proceedings. We also offer prevention and awareness presentations and trainings for schools and organizations across our seven-county service area.

 

Sexual assault spans age, sexual orientation, gender, education level and socioeconomic status. Rape is a real thing. It happens. Often. To people you love. It’s not an out-of-control effect of society’s deranged. Almost two thirds of rapes are completed by someone known to the victim.
